For this assignment, we were tasked with designing a creatively folded leaflet featuring visually striking graphics that tell the story of four styles in graphic design history from 1950 to 1980. The four styles were Swiss Style, Pop Art Style, Psychedelic Poster Style, and New Wave/Punk Style.
Each style included a short paragraph, three influential graphic designers, and a unique graphic element designed to reflect the characteristics of its respective time period. These elements were created to not only showcase the evolution of graphic design but also engage viewers through visually captivating designs.
The leaflet was intended for a pop-up exhibition hosted by the Graphic Design department at Noroff, aimed at raising awareness about their course and the field of graphic design among other students.
To bring the concept to life, I printed the design and created a mockup to demonstrate how it folds. Please note that the vertical lines on the mockup are printer errors and not part of the final design. The fold lines were added to the mockup to ensure accurate placement.
While maintaining the original layout, I made adjustments to the color scheme and added footprints to guide the viewer through the time periods, creating a cohesive and engaging design.
Below is the new design for the folder, with new color schemes and footprints.
